Class Description:
Handbuilt Surfaces utilizes the ancient technique of Handbuilding to create pots and sculptures without a potter's wheel. You can use these skills to create a variety of objects, both utilitarian and sculptural. In this class we will utilize handbuilding techniques to create basic shapes, with a focus on surface exploration. In this class we will explore underglaze techniques, using colored slips, Sgraffito & Mishima (Inlay), texture & impressions though stamp making and beyond, water etching, and using wax resist and layering. This class is open to all students.
