HANDBUILT BUTTER DISH WORKSHOP

In this workshop students will explore handbuilding techniques to build and sculpt a butter dish.  Participants in this workshop can create geometric or organic shaped containers.  You will have the option of choosing a studio glaze for your dish or we can accommodate a more decorative or illustrative style with underglaze painting. All students will make one two-part butter dish.  All fired work will be available for pick up approximately two weeks after your class.

In this workshop students will learn the handquilting technique of paper piecing.  Pia will guide students through preparing, assembling, and handsewing their paper hex pieces and squares.  Participants are welcome to bring their own cotton fabric, or choose from the assortment of vintage fabrics we have on hand.  Participants will leave with a firm understanding of techniques and several completed squares, a great start to a larger project.
