OUR CLAY BODIES

  • Close-up of a round, textured, beige-colored biscuit with a fluted edge and a spiral pattern on top.

    240 WHITE STONEWARE

  • Close-up of a spiral-shaped cookie with black and white sprinkles.

    112 SPECKLED BROWN

  • A close-up of a round, scalloped-edge, cinnamon-colored, sugar-coated baked good, possibly a sweet pastry or cookie, with a textured surface.

    308 BROOKLYN RED

Fall Kill stocks three clay bodies: Standard 240 white stoneware, Standard 112 speckled brown, and Standard 308 Brooklyn red. The white stoneware is our smoothest clay, well suited to throwing on the wheel. The speckled brown is a beautiful all rounder- good for handbuilding and throwing, and Brooklyn red has the most grog in it, so is our best handbuilding clay.

MATERIAL FEES - $5 for a 10-pound bag of reclaimed clay, subject to availability. $16 for a 25-pound bag of fresh clay
FIRING FEES - $0.06 per cubic inch, typically averaging between $3 to $5 for objects of mug size.

VOLUNTEER

We are always looking to add volunteers to our team of Open Studio Assistants. Open Studio Assistants are clay enthusiasts who volunteer once a week for a four hour shift. In exchange you receive a shelf, unlimited access to Open Studio, and two free classes annually. For more information please email Eric.
