LYNGSGAARD ASYMMETRICAL BASKETS (ADVANCED BEGINNER LEVEL)

$350.00

Instructor: Jesica Clark
Duration: 2 sessions
Dates: Saturday & Sunday, December 5 & 6, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
Location: Glebe House, 635 Main Street, Poughkeepsie
Cost: $350

Class Description: In this weekend workshop, students will work to weave baskets with wooden handles. Students will learn to construct a traditional  basket that is asymmetrical, with a rounded upsett, French randed and plain woven sides, and a novel border plus wood handle. Participants can expect to  finish the class with a beautiful and unique basket. Students may want to bring pieces of driftwood or unique branches to use as handles.

PLEASE NOTE: This is an ADVANCED BEGINNER course - students should have prior willow basket weaving experience and be familiar with the weave patterns of stake and strand willow weaving: pairing, waling, randing, etc. Because willow can be a challenge to work with and is physically engaging, this class may be difficult for a person with hand issues. This class includes a one hour lunch break.
