PART OF OUR COMMUNITY COLLABORATION SERIES!

Instructor: Annie Buchholz
Duration: 4 Sessions
Dates: Mondays, 07/13 - 08/03/26
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Location: Clay Studio, 485 Main Street, Poughkeepsie

Class Description:
This intermediate wheel class focused on traditional fermentation vessels. Students will learn to throw and refine crocks designed with a water-seal rim - a system that allows gases to escape while protecting your ferment. We’ll cover scale, lid design, throwing in sections, and precision in throwing forms that need to work.
In our final class, Wilson Chang, Assistant Director of Hilltop Hanover Farm, will lead a live kimchi-making demonstration using local produce. You’ll leave not only with your own handmade crock, but with the knowledge to begin fermenting at home!

Included:
Unlimited Open Studio time during class enrollment
12 lbs of fresh clay
Shared shelf space
Local produce for kimchi
