Class Description:
Great pots don’t stop at the form — the surface is where personality really comes through.

In this four-week workshop, we’ll explore a range of surface design techniques that help bring intention, depth, and control to the finishing stages of pottery. While many wheel throwers are eager to refine their surface work, handbuilders are equally welcome - the techniques we cover translate across both making styles.

We’ll begin by creating small tester pieces so everyone has surfaces to experiment on throughout the session. From there, we’ll move through a range of approaches that can be used at different stages of the clay process, from wet clay to bisque to glaze.

Included:
Unlimited Open Studio time during the class
12 lbs of fresh clay
Shared shelf space

Cancellation policy:
Full refunds (minus a 5% processing fee) are available for classes cancelled 30 before the start date of your class.
Classes cancelled after 30-14 days before the start date of your course will receive a 50% refund (minus a 5% processing fee).
Classes cancelled within 14 days of the start date of your class are not eligible for a refund.
Classes cancelled due to inclement weather or an instructor emergency will be added on to the back end of the series.
We are not able to offer make up classes for students who miss a class session.
