YOUTH HANDBUILDING / ADULT INTRO TO WHEEL
Instructors: Case Cruger (Adult Wheel) & Chelsea Clark (Youth Handbuilding)

Location: Clay Studio, 485 Main Street, Poughkeepsie
Cost: $545.00 (Adult plus one Child Ages 6-12 )
Additional child: $175 each (Ages 6-12)
Class Description:
These are offered as separate classes held at the same time in neighboring classrooms and are intended to offer both caregivers and their children an opportunity to take a class.
In Adult Intro to Wheel Case Cruger will cover the foundational techniques of wedging clay, throwing basic cup or bowl forms, trimming, adding handles, and glazing. It’s a great introduction (or a refresher!) to throwing on the wheel and working in a community studio.
In Youth Handbuilding Chelsea Clark will cover a variety of handbuilding techniques, including working with slabs, coils, and pinch pots to make both functional and sculptural work. Students will have opportunities to work with illustrative painting techniques with underglazes as well as studio glazes.
There will be ongoing demonstrations and plenty of work time in both classes.

Prerequisites:
No prior experience with clay necessary; open to all.
Cancellation policy:
Full refunds are available for classes cancelled 30 before the start date of your class.
Classes cancelled after 30-14 days before the start date of your course will receive a 50% refund.
Classes cancelled within 14 days of the start date of your class are not eligible for a refund.
Classes cancelled due to inclement weather or an instructor emergency will be added on to the back end of the series.
We are not able to offer make up classes for students who miss a class session.
