STUDIO FAQ
-
You can park in the lot that is adjacent to the building, and street parking is readily available as well.
-
No; the hours we're open for self-guided work are unsupervised, with no instructor present, so this time is reserved for people already trained on our equipment and familiar with our studio procedures and safety practices. Because of that, we don't offer day or hourly rates - access requires either an Open Studio membership or enrollment in a multi-week class.
If you have prior ceramics studio experience and are interested in an Open Studio membership, email Eric to check availability.
New to ceramics? Many of our one-day workshops, such as Wheel Night at Fall Kill, require no prior experience and are a great way to get started! You can also check out our beginner-level classes, or schedule a private lesson for one-on-one instruction.

Open Studio is self-guided time available to anyone with an Open Studio membership, or to students currently enrolled in a multi-week ceramics class. You’ll have access to community tools, house glazes, and equipment including pottery wheels, a slab roller, and an extruder. We have Open Studio hours six days a week, and there is no limit on how often you can drop in!

Possibly! Email Eric, our Studio Director, to find out if your clay and glazes are compatible with our firing processes. You must include photos of your clay and glaze labels. We want to ensure that your pieces will survive and won’t damage anyone else’s work.

We do rent kilns on a case-by-case basis. The typical time when it makes sense to rent a kiln is if you want to try a specialty glaze that needs a specific firing schedule. Please note that kiln rental is subject to availability, which may be particularly limited during our busy seasons. Email Eric for more information.
CLASS FAQ
-
Our cancellation policy applies to all registrations, whether you pay in full or choose a payment plan.
Cancellations made 30 or more days before the course start date are eligible for a full refund, minus a 5% processing fee. Cancellations made 14–29 days before the course start date are eligible for a 50% refund, minus a 5% processing fee. Cancellations made less than 14 days before the course start date are not eligible for a refund. If Fallkill Creative Works cancels a class, registered students will receive a full refund.
If a session of a multi-week class is canceled due to inclement weather or an instructor emergency, a makeup session will be added to the end of the course.
Please note: Stopping installment payments does not notify us that you are withdrawing from a class. If you need to cancel your registration, please email Chelsea directly.
-
For multi-week courses, up to two missed classes may be made up by attending a comparable session on a different day. Makeups are subject to availability and scheduled at the discretion of the office staff. To arrange a makeup, email Chelsea. We'll do our best to find a session that works for you, but we cannot guarantee placement in every case.
Please note that makeup classes must be at a similar level and format to your enrolled course. Contact Chelsea for more information.
